THE POWER OF BEING

Become who God created you to be

SOWLE - Christian Life and Business Coach

We are meant to be; being ourselves in the true and best version and in a God-honoring way. We have become a copying society; we copy other people's way of talking, way of walking, way of dressing, and way of life. Most of us want to be like 'others'; those that seem to have a better life, those that seem to talk better, dress better; those that seem to have a more interesting and perfect life. We want to be like 'them'. It always seems enticing, the grass seems greener with other people. That makes us become discontent in who we are. It is hard to be ourselves and live God-honoring lives when we are busy trying to be other people.

God created us unique; we are equal but different. Our lives cannot and will never be the same. Each of us is so different, and with different gifts. Our personalities are different, our outlook on life is different, and our perspectives are different. We are on the journey of life but our paths will always be as different as there are many of us. Why then do we feel the pressure to conform? The pressure to be like others? Being ourselves does not mean we are prideful, it does not mean we look down on others, neither does it mean we are superior. It means we know who we are, it means we know where we came from, and it means we know where we are going. It means we live a purposeful life, fully acknowledging God in every area of our lives.

We were not meant to be born, grow up, grow old, and then die. No. Each of us was placed on earth for a time and a purpose. A purposeful life is the most fulfilling life. We have to follow the path that pleases God and serve the Lord diligently. What does a man gain by living a long life with no purpose and outside the will of God? Even after decades we will always feel unfilled if we do not place Jesus Christ at the center of our lives. A life with no purpose makes us look for all sorts of ways to fill up those voids within us that are only meant to be filled by God. We were not created to just accumulate wealth. What's the use of wealth if inside we are empty? Everything else loses meaning if God is not in it. Purpose to live for God.

God is the only one who gives meaning to life. We are to love one another. In everything we do we should consider each other. We should not put others down in an effort to make ourselves look great; we do not treat others as lesser than, we do not trample on others on our way up. We love each other, and we treat others with dignity and respect. We should not pretend to be people we are not. We should not pretend to know it all. We are to live authentic lives. With God's help we look inside to clean up anything within us that does not please God. We ask God to help us to know who we really are and why we are here on earth. When we lead fake lives, we mislead others. There are those looking at us and if we are not careful, we will lead others astray.

We should not become jealous or envious of others. We are to praise God when other people are blessed. We pray for others for God to lift them up, we pray for others to find the way in life, that is, Jesus Christ. We do not go shutting doors of opportunities to block others from entering. We realize we cannot block God's blessings on other people's lives and neither can other people block the blessings God has in store for us. We are not meant to hate each other, destroy each other, or stab each other on the back. The Bible tells us to live in peace with everyone.

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Carefully consider what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible on your part, live at peace with everyone. Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but leave room for God's wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord' Romans 12:17-20.

It is hard to do good when someone has hurt us. Yet, that is God's Law; we are to do good and treat others with love. It requires us walking in the Spirit; the flesh is weak. We are to crucify the flesh, and we are to spend time in God's presence studying His Word so that we can hear His voice concerning our lives. We cannot hear Him when our lives are busy, chaotic, with no space for spending time in God's presence. How can we hear God when we are out there shouting at each other? When we are full of pride? When we are self-obsessed? When we are busy trying to please each other? We have to be intentional about studying the Word of God and spending time in prayer. God will show us the right path to follow if we ask Him to.

Being authentic and fixing our eyes on Jesus Christ helps us become grounded. We stand with the truth. We do not fall into the traps of the enemy. Our lives become blessed.

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor seateth in the seat of the scornful. Psalm 1:1.

We are to make a stand; we are either of God or not, we should never be lukewarm.

When we do start following God's way, when we decide to do good, when we make the decision to follow Christ, we should not be surprised to meet opposition. There are those who will be with us as long as we do and say what they want. The moment we make a stand and follow what is right and true, they may start attacking us or even walk away.

Of course, your former friends are surprised when you no longer plunge into the flood of wild and destructive things they do. So they slander you. 1 Peter 4:4.

When we are right with God and we are treating everyone around us with love, then other things lose meaning.

Am i saying this now to win the approval of people or God? Am i trying to please people? If i were still trying to please people, i would not be Christ's servant. Galatians 1:10.

Following Christ means we die to self, take up the cross, and follow Him.

There will be those who will always talk behind our back, and there are those who will try to weigh us down, but when we are led by the Holy Spirit, we know we are secure.

Blessings.

GUARD YOUR HEART

Guard your heart Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flows the issues of life. Proverbs 4:23. The Bible tells us to guard our hearts. Our Creator knows us and He gave us this instruction with full knowledge of the condition of human heart. This requires us to be sober because the world is full of chaos. Guarding our hearts is very important because it affects the trajectory of our lives. The human mind is the most deceitful of all things. It is incurable. No one can understand how deceitful it is. Jeremiah 17:9. One wrong turn can lead to a ripple effect that can end in destruction. The enemy feeds our minds with all sorts of lies; that we have sinned too much and cannot be forgiven, that we cannot make it. His aim is to throw us into confusion and for us to start doubting the Word of God. When we listen to the voices of other people, we will realize that everybody has an opinion about every subject, and the opinions are as diverse as there are p

FORGIVENESS

Forgiveness Then Jesus said, Father forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing. And they divided up His garments by casting lots. Luke 23:24. Forgiveness! Such a simple word but a difficult action to execute. Why do we find it difficult to forgive others? Because we cannot do it by our own strength, we need God. Our flesh/ carnal nature desires to hurt those who hurt us. So watch yourselves. If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them. Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times comes back to you saying 'I repent' you must forgive them. Luke 17:3-4. We are instructed to forgive just as the Lord has forgiven us. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:13. We have been forgiven freely and therefore we are to extend the same to those who hurt us. Forgiveness frees us and restores our

WHEN WE KNOW BETTER

When you know better do better There comes a point when God opens our eyes. God is light and He does not want His children to be in darkness. He opens our spiritual eyes when we develop a relationship with Him. He opens our eyes to whom we truly are and to whom others truly are. He also opens our eyes concerning our circumstances, and also we get to know our purpose. Without knowing it, we walk most of our lives blind; we do not know ourselves, we do not know who others are beyond their physical appearance, we do not know why our circumstances are the way they are, and we do not understand events that are happening all around us. When we have no understanding, we develop pride and arrogance as a coping mechanism. We start explaining away everything. We come up with all sorts of reasons why we are the way we are, why others are the way they are, and why things are the way they are. We have an answer for everything. However, the surprising thing is, the answers and opinion are as d
