FORGIVENESS

Forgiveness Then Jesus said, Father forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing. And they divided up His garments by casting lots. Luke 23:24. Forgiveness! Such a simple word but a difficult action to execute. Why do we find it difficult to forgive others? Because we cannot do it by our own strength, we need God. Our flesh/ carnal nature desires to hurt those who hurt us. So watch yourselves. If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them. Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times comes back to you saying 'I repent' you must forgive them. Luke 17:3-4. We are instructed to forgive just as the Lord has forgiven us. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. WHEN WE KNOW BETTER

When you know better do better There comes a point when God opens our eyes. God is light and He does not want His children to be in darkness. He opens our spiritual eyes when we develop a relationship with Him. He opens our eyes to whom we truly are and to whom others truly are. When we have no understanding, we develop pride and arrogance as a coping mechanism. We start explaining away everything. We come up with all sorts of reasons why we are the way we are, why others are the way they are, and why things are the way they are. We have an answer for everything. However, the surprising thing is, the answers and opinion are as d

ADDICTIONS/IDOLS

Addictions/Idols You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make yourselves an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on earth beneath or in water under the earth. You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the Lord your God, Am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the children, on the third and fourth generations for those who hate me. Exodus 20:3-5. Idols come in many forms in the present world. Any form of addiction, apart from God, is an idol. An idol is anything that takes up the place of God in our lives; whether it is work, a loved one, drugs, alcohol, another human being, ourselves, social media - anything we put first, most of the time unknowingly, above God, becomes an idol. We use such things to numb ourselves or fill a God-sized hole that can only be filled by God. We feel uneasy when we are by ourselves. We cannot face ourselves, we are afraid of quiet and stillness. We want to hear some 'noise'. The void that w
