Grief
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away. Revelation 21:4.
Grief comes as a result of loss, any form of loss; death of a loved one, divorce, break up, loss of friendship, loss of business - loss of anything important to an individual. It varies in severity, and everyone is affected in a different way. When we face loss, it is okay to grieve, but we should not let it overtake us. One trap of the devil is to make us internalize the grief until it becomes a part of us, then it starts creeping through and out of our bodies as all sorts of physical and mental illnesses. It becomes poison to our bodies and souls, eats us up until we become one and part of it. The devil condemns us and tells us that we do not deserve to be happy again, he bombards us with all sorts of lies so that we remain in a pit of darkness.
When we realize and identify the lies of the devil and know Jesus Christ came to give us life in abundance, nothing will ever weigh us down.
Then i heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, 'Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ have come; for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them and keeps bringing charges of sinful behavior against them before our God day and night. Revelations 12:10.
God never condemns us, He is Love. He never guilt trips us, only the devil does that. Guilt, prolonged grief, self condemnation are forms of darkness from the devil. God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness. He is quick to forgive and lead us to life everlasting.
Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. 2 Corinthians 7:10.
God is our present help in times of need.
For He has not despised or scorned the suffering of the afflicted one; He has not hidden His face from him but has listened to his cry for help. Psalms 22:24.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalms 34:18.
He tells us to go to Him when we are weary and burdened and He will give us rest. The devil's condemnation leads to a downward spiral. But when we learn the truth, we will find rest for our souls. God will give us a peace that surpasses our understanding in the midst of life's turmoils.
So do not fear, for I Am with you; do not be dismayed, for I Am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Isaiah 4:10.
In God we have hope. The devil wants us to give up but we have victory through Christ. Christ is our hope; we know with certainty there is heaven and eternal life. Our eyes should always be fixed on eternity with God.
Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uniformed about those who sleep in death, so that you will not grieve like the rest, who are without hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, we also believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14.
God wants us to be happy, full of joy and enjoy the gift of life He has given us.
Rejoice in the Lord always, i will say it again; Rejoice! Philippians 4:4.
He has not said it will be a smooth life but He has promised to be there with us every step of the way.
No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide an escape, so that you can stand up under it. 1 Corinthians 10:13.
Daniel was thrown into a den of lions because of his faith in God, but God rescued Him in ways that are beyond human understanding. There is nothing to fear in this world. With God, we can never lose. We will always be victors no matter the outcome. Everything works for good to those who love God.
So the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lion's den. The king said to Daniel, ' May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you!' A stone was brought and placed over the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the rings of his nobles, so that Daniel's situation might not be changed. Then the king returned to his palace and spent the night without eating and without any entertainment being brought to him. And he could not sleep. At the first light of dawn, the king got up and hurried to the lion's den. When he came near the den, he called to Daniel in an anguished voice, 'Daniel, servant of the Living God, has your God , whom you serve continually, been able to rescue you from the lions?' Daniel answered, 'May the King live forever! My God sent His angel, and He shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because i was found innocent in His sight. Nor have i ever done any wrong before you, your Majesty!' The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den. And when Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound was found on him, because he had trusted in his God. At the king's command, the men who had falsely accused Daniel were brought in and thrown in the lions' den, along with their wives and children. And before they reached the floor of the den, the lions overpowered them and crushed all their bones. Daniel 6:16-24.
Even though i walk through the valley of the shadow of death, i fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; my cup overflows. Psalms 23:4-5.
Let us rest on the promises of God.
Blessings.
